LESSONS FROM LINDA IKEJI

There are a few things I have learnt from the things happening to Linda Ikeji. For the very few who do not know what has been happening let me give you the Lowdown.
Linda had been accused by one Ayedee on twitter of Plagiarism. He claimed she posted his exclusives without asking for permission neither did she give him credit on her blog. He reported to Google, (owner of BLOGPOST) and apparently, google believes in Guilty until proven innocent. As such, Linda's blog was removed pending when she could prove her innocence
linda and @Ayedee
Yesterday, a new website, www.lindaikejionline.com was created and is currently up and running. Finally, Linda has her own website. Yayyyy!!!!!!.
This morning, a post, a very lengthy one I must confess. was posted by Linda on her new website (If you do not like to read, sorry, you can neither be given a summary here nor can I copy and paste. Go and get that gist from her). She gave some very very Nollywood-Figurine-movie-ish kind of story. (Again... go and read the full story). Apparently, Ayedee was a former friend and confidant who felt Linda had wronged him letting her money get to her head. He then decided to teach her a "lesson", thus ensuring that her blog was brought down.
Well, he succeeded!!!
Now, it gets interesting...
They go to chat and discovered who is who and bla  bla bla... Not gonna bother with all that!
I am here to simply state all the Lessons I learnt from this episode in both Linda Ikeji and Aye Dee's lifes.
1. WHEN YOU ARE TO BEGIN A NEW VENTURE, OR CAREER OR WHATEVER YOU WISH TO CALL IT... ALWAYS, ALWAYS START RIGHT!!!  It doesn't have to be big, but please let it be right. Linda made millions over a blog that was free to create and manage but not entirely free. She started small, but the moment she began to get returns, she forgot to make things right. People with vision went ahead and created websites with her name, knowing there shall come a time where she would need to own her own website and they could make millions off her. Right now, thank goodness, she has got herself a site, albeit not as sweet a name as she would have loved it to be.
2. KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE BUT YOUR ENEMY CLOSER!!! Linda had an issue with an Ayedee, she let it slide and kept quiet about it until he ran her down... well, ran her blog down! All these would have been resolved had she made in-depth inquiries as to who he actually was. She would have discovered he was none other than her friend and confidant, one who would have easily made everything disappear like it never happened. Instead she opted for speaking about it on her blog while waiting for Google to take it down... which they eventually did!
3. WHEN OFFENDED, LISTEN TO YOUR OFFENDER. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LEARN!!! Linda did something here that I am very proud of. When she discovered who Ayedee was, she did not end the chat screaming hell and high weather! No! She kept talking, wanting to know more and resolve the issue. In the end, she got a man who would move earth and the entire universe just to set things right by her... and they have never met in camera!
4. LEARN TO SMILE THROUGH TURBULENCE... IT MAKES THE JOURNEY MORE BEARABLE AND THE RESULT OVERWHELMING! Linda is my Icon when it comes to this lesson!!! Plagiarism is a very big offence, Nigerians may not realise this but it is severe! To be accused of this is to state in no difficult term that YOU ARE A STUPID THIEF WHO STEALS PEOPLE'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND THEN BLATANTLY SHOW IT TO THEIR FACE. If anyone accuses me of Plagiarism I would sue (that is after I have made certain I did no such thing, not even in my dreams). To have Ayedee accuse Linda of this and every other Tom, Dick and Harry putting up blogs condemning the Poor lady of this, whether it be true or not... I cannot place myself in her shoes.
To make matters worse for her, her blog got shut and everyone was like, 'Ehen! God don catch am! She go fall finish, rubbish.' She did not relent and today, she has her own website, which cannot be touched by Google or any other blog-hosting body.

All in All... Please do the right thing at the right time to avoid the wrong thing happening to you!!!
